Our beliefs

Through shared beliefs, we find strength, support, and a sense of belonging, fostering a loving environment where individuals can grow in their relationship with God and one another.

JESUS

We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, the second person of the Holy Trinity, God’s only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, and teachings. We believe in His perfect substitutionary, atoning death through His shed blood on the Cross at Calvary, for the sins of all mankind. We believe on the third day He rose again, ascended into heaven, where He is seated at the right hand of the Father.

THE HOLY SPIRIT

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Holy Trinity, sent from the Father and the Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. We believe the Holy Spirit guides, teaches, regenerates, sanctifies, empowers, and indwells every true believer in Christ.

GOD THE FATHER

We believe in God the Father, the first person of the Holy Trinity, eternal, unchanging, all-powerful, just, perfectly holy, and sovereign, the Father of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and of all true believers.

THE BIBLE

We believe that the Bible is the sole authoritative and infallible Word of God, inerrant in the original manuscripts, written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit.

SALVATION

We believe that salvation is by the grace of God,  provided for all mankind through the substitutionary death of the Lord Jesus Christ on the Cross at Calvary. Salvation is received through faith alone in the Lord’s perfect sacrifice on the Cross on our behalf, and not by any works, so no man can boast. Those who repent of their sins, believe in Him, are born again of the Holy Spirit, receive the gift of eternal life, and become children of God.

THE CHURCH

The Church consists of all those who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, are redeemed through His blood, and are born again of the Holy Spirit. Christ is the Head of the Body, the Church, which has been commissioned by Him to go into all the world as a witness, preaching the gospel to all nations. The local church is a body of believers in Christ who are joined together for: the worship of God, edification through the Word of God, prayer, fellowship, the proclamation of the gospel, and observance of the ordinances of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper.

Our history

When the Lord tells you to do something, you do it.

In 2020, the world around us was a strange and scary place because of a global pandemic. The Lord led us to start a church to reach, teach and share Christ's love with the community of Greenbrier, TN. That group was obedient to the Lords call and started Agape Church, in a local barn of all places. The Lord knew the location of the church was irrelevant.

Our church is one of contemporary style worship with biblical preaching. We believe the bible to be the living word of God and our lives should filter everything we do through it.

You can find us on Sunday mornings at
2354 Highway 41 South, Suite P, Greenbrier, TN 37073.

Meet Pastor Tim Dalton

Pastor Tim Dalton is the founding pastor of Agape Church. With a heart deeply rooted in service and a passion for seeing lives transformed by Jesus, Tim answered God’s call by gathering with friends and family in a humble barn—where Agape Church first began.

He and his wonderful wife, Joyell, have four adult children who are amid starting their own families and continue to lead with authenticity, love, and a commitment to the truth of God’s Word. Pastor Tim brings a relatable, Spirit-led message each week, always pointing people to the hope and grace found in Christ.

Whether you’re new to faith or looking for a place to grow deeper, Pastor Tim’s leadership helps make Agape Church a place to call home.

Meet Family Pastor Tristan Heerdt

Pastor Tristan was called to Agape at the end of April 2025. He married his best friend, Jalynn, in 2019 and the two moved to Nashville shortly after. Tristan has been in student ministry for six years and he and Jalynn are so excited for what God has done and is going to do here at Agape Church Greenbrier. He looks forward to connecting with you and your students not only within the “walls” of Agape, but out in the community!

When Tristan and Jalynn are not at church, they love to go to the movie theater together. They love all things Chicago sports and watching them (hopefully) win games! They also have two guinea pigs who they love very much!
